Scholarship Application

Play It Forward Sportz will award up to two, $1,000 scholarships per year.

Qualified applicants:

1. Must have held a permanent spot on a USSSA roster for a minimum of two years prior to applying and must be the two years prior to the year of application. For Instance, applicants applying for the 2025 scholarship (Awarded in September of 2024) must have been on a USSSA permanent roster during the 2024 and 2023 seasons.

2. Must have played in 10 or more Play It Forward Sportz events in the two years prior to applying. Players could have played in these events as a member of their permanent team or as a guest player for another USSSA team. Players must reside in the Play It Forward Sportz area of responsibility (Southern Illinois and Eastern Missouri).

3. Must be a senior currently OR a player transitioning between their senior year in High School and their freshman year in college OR a freshman in their first semester of college.

Once you have completed the above information please send a short video of the applicant to [email protected]. The video should not be more than 5 minutes long and should identify why the applicant should receive the scholarship. The video should include:

1. Introduction (name, travel team name, name of college you will be attending or plan to attend)
2. Justification(s) for receiving
3. Your ambitions for your future
4. How will you use the money

Be creative, honest and genuine!

When creating your video; this is not a Snap to a friend! Take lighting, location, and background noise into consideration. I suggest using videos and still shots of yourself, creating a slide show and/or have a written script that you can read from. Practice a couple times before submitting your final product. Show your final product to an adult or friend for suggestions. Please put some effort into your video or it will not be considered!

We are giving away $2,000 of our hard earned money and you are receiving $1,000 for FREE! That money could buy books, pay rent, gas money, or a couple new bats. Take this seriously or your application will not be taken seriously!

Applications must be submitted no later than August 20th or the start of the USSSA season, whichever comes first.  Winners will be announced no later than September 1st.
